Allergic rhinitis is an IgE-mediated inflammatory disorder of the nose which occurs when the nasal mucosa becomes exposed and sensitized to allergens.This triggers the release of histamine and other inflammatory mediators, which act on cells, nerve endings, and blood vessels to produce typical symptoms of sneezing, nasal itching, discharge (rhinorrhoea), and congestion.
