SPACE
Earth from space (what it looks like) (land, sea, clouds)
-
From space, Earth looks like a blue and white ball with green and brown land.
Astronauts in space can see a thin layer of atmosphere around Earth that protects the planet and creates beautiful auroras (Northern and Southern Lights).
-
Scientists use satellites to study Earth from space to learn about weather, climate, and environmental changes.
Names of the planets
Mercury: It's the smallest planet, closest to the Sun, and is rocky with a thin atmosphere.
Venus: It's the second planet from the Sun, similar in size to Earth, and has a thick, hot atmosphere.
Earth: It's our planet, the third from the Sun, with an atmosphere containing oxygen, water, and life.
Mars: It's called the "Red Planet," fourth from the Sun, with a thin atmosphere, polar ice caps, and ancient riverbeds.
Jupiter: It's the largest planet, a gas giant with colorful bands and a giant storm called the "Great Red Spot."
Saturn: It's the second largest planet, a gas giant with beautiful rings made of ice and rocks.
Uranus: It's the seventh planet, an ice giant with a unique blue-green color and rotates on its side.
Neptune: It's the farthest planet, an ice giant with a deep blue color and known for strong winds and large storms.
Space travel
Rockets: Rockets are vehicles that can travel in space by propelling themselves with powerful engines called rocket engines.
Astronauts: Astronauts are people who travel and work in space. They wear special suits and helmets to protect themselves.
Spacecraft: Spacecraft are vehicles designed for travel and exploration in space, such as spaceships, shuttles, and capsules.
Orbits: Objects in space, like planets and satellites, move in curved paths called orbits around larger objects, like stars or planets.
Space Stations: Space stations are large structures in space where astronauts can live and work for long periods of time, conducting experiments and research.
