In Verona, there are two families, The Montague and The Capulet who hate each other. One day Romeo (a Montague) and his friend, wear masks and go to a party held by the Capulets. Romeo falls madly in love with Juliet, the Capulet’s daughter, but she is already promised to Paris. Because of this they decided to marry in secret by Friar Laurence. Immediately after the wedding, Romeo is involved in a fight between the members of the two families. Romeo refuses to fight, but when his friend Mercutio is wounded by Juliet's cousin, Tybalt, Romeo draws his sword and kills Tybalt. Because of this crime Romeo is banished from Verona. Meanwhile Juliet's father tells her that she will marry Count Paris the next day. To help Juliet escape, Friar Laurence gives her a sleeping potion that will make her appear to be dead. Friar Laurence sends Romeo a message explaining this, but it doesn’t reach Romeo. So he thinks Juliet is dead, goes to her tomb, kills Paris in a duel because he wants to prevent him from seeing Juliet and then he poisons himself. Juliet wakes up, sees Romeo is dead and stabs herself. Friar Laurence explains what has happened to the two families and the Montague and Capulet decide to stop hating each other.
