after Muhammad's death in the mid-7th century CE, Islam began to quickly expand outwards from the Arabian Peninsula by conquering neighbour territories
it established "Caliphate", where a Caliph (official successor to Muhammad) using theocratic government to rule, combined with many trade routes, they entered a golden age during 8th - 12th century CE

they placed a special tax called the "Jizya" for people who weren't Muslims like Christians and Jews this can be seen as the historical confrontations that had divided them
the Abbasid Caliphate
it was te second caliphate, after it overthrew the Ummayad Caliphate, it became the golden age at the very height of the influences of Islamic culture
it established its capital at Baghdad, on the banks of the Tigris and the Euphrates rivers
