Energy in food :red_flag: :star::+1::skin-tone-6:
Why do living things need food?
Living things need food for the energy stored in food to carry out all the activities.
through digestion
broke down to gluccose to provide energy
energy is released during respiration
Glucose+O2----> (through respiration)
Energy+H2O+CO2
For life processes(growing or reproducing)
Plants make their own food through photosynthesis
Plants with chlorophyll capture light enrgy using CO2, water to make food through photosynthesis.
Use CO2 and water
Water
Absorbed by roots
CO2
Through stomata
Give out Food and Oxygen
Food(Sugar) is broken down through a respiration process
Excess food stored in form of starch in various parts
Stored in roots, stems, flower and root
Need more energy when growing
Oxygen is given to the surroundings
Capture
sunlight using chlorophyll
Heat energy keep earth and living things warm
Light energy allows plants to make through photosynthesis
Light and Heat are given by the Sun
Animals cannot make food
Animals get energy(food) by...
Eating plants
Herbivores
The energy obtained by Herbivores will pass to Omnivores and Carnivores
Eating other animals
Carnivores
Eat both plants and animals
Omnivores
The sun is the main source of energy
Light
For us to see
Energy from the Sun is passed on to plants, then pass on to animals and humans
Heat
for Bodies to function
