Why do many people leave Cornwall? = Due to the growth in tourism there has been a demand for housing, because of this, house prices have increase. This has led to many locals not be able to afford to live here anymore so are having to leave Cornwall. Young people leave due to lack of employment / well paid jobs - causes Cornwall to suffer a brain drain of young talented people due to it's remoteness, a lack of skilled and well-paid unemployment and due to the inflation in house prices caused by wealthy second home owners such as Gordon Ramsey.
Why are many jobs in Cornwall low paid? = Because of the decline of traditional employment in primary industries it has led to low consumer spending which means local councils recieve lower council and business taxes so they are unable to invest in transport infrastructure causing fewer businesses to invest in the area, decreasing amount of employment opportunities.
Why are low-income rural households more likely to remain poor than urban ones? = Lack access to services eg. health and transport. Less opportunities , Poorly performing schools
