- - - - Connection: Even if someone does not want to get vaccinated they may have to sacrifice some of their rights or values in order to protect the community
    - - A law which mandates vaccines would be a law based on the general will of the people. Even though some may not support it, it is still the general belief that it would be beneficial to society. Rousseau would support a law which mandates vaccinations because it would be a law specifically created to help the community and its safety. The fact that most people did support mandating vaccinations also show that it is the general will of the people.
      - Connection: Rousseau believed that by forcing people to obey the law, they are overall still free because they are living in a democratic society, they are still able to do things just like how during COVID people who were unvaccinated could still do things, some things were just limited. Rousseau does not believe that by taking away some rights someones freedom is being taken away, the most important factor is that whatever rights are being taken away must be beneficial to society.
