metamorphic
sedimentary rock is transformed into another type as a result of intense heat and pressure (heat from friction of tectonic plates) . e.g marble from limestone
halite/salt formed in evaporation of water ,this causes crystallisation and depositon

veegation= coal, shells =chalk and limestone . for these to happen anaeorbic conditions are needed
haeomotite (iron ore ) - this is formed when iron became oxidised due to photosynthesis as it released oxygen
manganese deposits are formed from chemical precipitation due to changes in solubility . this forms a metal deposit
igneous
igneous rock formation can be intrusive (cools in earth crusts) or extrusive (exposed to the atmosphere )
how? - intrusive rock forms when magma cools slowly underground . molten rock is caused by friction by moving tectonic lates . as underground batholith forms , it cools to form large crystals creating granite
batholith
at the same time water comes into contact with the batholith, it contains dissolved minerals, this creates fissures . steam escapes through hydrothermal vents . this process is metasomatism
extrusive igneous rock e.g Basalt . this forms when magma cools rapidly in contact with the air/water. cools rapidly - small crystals.

formed from sedimentation and compaction of minerals , this causes concentration creating rock e.g slate , sandstone, limestone,chalk,coal.

this creates particles deposited in slow movements , dense particles deposited first . this creates alluvial deposit
