Characteristics grade 2
Starts to make interferences
This is where the students start to identify and solve the problems they may come across during activities or projects that they do. For example, the teacher can do the egg drop game. The students will be put into groups where they will have to use materials to protect the egg so it does not break when it gets dropped from the floor upstairs. This will encourage the students to think outside of the box to make sure strong materials are used like cardboard boxes and string (Naude & Meier, 2020).
Improved muscle control and greater precision
The student should be able to cut more accurately on a line that is given to them. They should find it a lot easier at this age as they have grasped the necessary concepts (Naude & Meier, 2020).
Follows simple steps
The students should be able to follow the instructions clearly. The teacher will help to guide them where needed inorder for the steps to be done correctly (Naude & Meier, 2020).
Technology is where the use of a combination of knowledge, skills, and
resources that are available to develop solutions that meet their needs and wants daily (Naude & Meier, 2020).
Characteristics grade 1
Follows simple rules
This is where the students learn what essential equipment they use can be dangerous and which is not. For example, scissors can cut them if they misuse them or run their fingers along the blade. This can also help them know they should not run around with stuff in their hands.
Enjoys friendships and teamwork
Class activities or certain assessments can be done in groups to help the students develop their communication skills with others around them. This can help to encourage them to build their self-confidence.
Characteristics grade 3
Solves more complex problems
The learners can come up with a solution that will work if they first try the does not work out, for example, they make a house with a roof but the roof doe not stay up so the next time they will use a different material (Naude & Meier, 2020).
Follows simple steps
The teacher will give a few instructions on how to do a simple task and the learners will those instructions to complete a task, for example, a teacher can tell a child to go to a teacher ad give them a piece of paper and the child must make sure to give it to the right person (Naude & Meier, 2020).
Starts to make predictions
Learners will be able to guess if their product will work for the desired purpose, for example, if they make a car will it go down the hill (Naude & Meier, 2020)
