Electricity - Coggle Diagram
Electricity
An
electric current
is the flow of an electric charge through a conductor.
Electrons move
from one atom to another
Atom
Proton
Positive charge (+)
It is part of the nucleus.
Neutron
Neutral charge (0)
It is part of the nucleus.
Electron
Negative charge (-)
They orbit around the nucleus.
A
stable atom
has the
same number of electrons and protons.
Electrical Circuits
This is a
continuous conducting path
that electric currents can flow along.
Battery
This is where
electricity is stored.
Conductor
Electricity can flow around a conductor. It
connects
the two
ends of the battery.
Example:
copper wire
Switch
It can
open or close
a circuit. When the circuit is
closed,
electricity
can flow
. When it is
open,
electricity
cannot flow
.
Load
This
converts electricity
into another type of
energy
. Example: a light bulb
