Create a positive classroom environment
The student feel valuable
Ask about feeling, likes, experiences and traditions in the bell-rings
Let and encourage to all the students to participate and share

Use of online tools as google doc and Jamboard to monitor, make corrections and give tips at the moment
Try to learn every class a new word in the native language of my students
Create problems that could be interesting for each students talking about culture and likes
Ask them how to say their names. Sometimes teachers have changed the pronunciation of the students’ name sot englicized it. Ask how their mom or a loved one says their name.
Give students an opportunity to showcase their talents that may not be used in school normally. (piano, golf, etc)

I have a questionnaire (depending on the grade level) that i give to my students at the beginning of the year to know if they study music outside of school, or have a favorite song or would like to learn about or learn to play an instrument in the future, etc
Give them positive words to those who are having some troubles comprehend the topic. Also take time to talk about their weekends, what did they do,etc
When I code call, we automatically praise/clap before they respond or answer, it helps kids participate and share, now we have normed on it and kids laugh at it and feel at ease when we share out difficult answers. They feel less worried about if its wrong and more willing to try
Use the knowledge to make accommodation

Provide resources for students that include vocabulary or instructional resources in their native language
Include images in the instructional resources or assessments to support ELL students
Make homogeneous and heterogeneous groups to collaborate in activities.
Give to my students tools that helps them to learn in their language and compare it in english as CK-12.
