add dropwise to each of your samples
positive result = color is 'blue - black'

test for
REDUCING
SUGARS
procedure
1) take 2ml of the food sample in a test tube
2) add 2ml or more of Benedict's solution to the same test tube
3) gently shake the conetnts of the test tube
4) place the test tube in a water bath at 80 degrees celsius
color change
from blue to green - yellow (low) ; orange (moderate) ; brick red (high)
BIURET
test for
PROTEINS
procedure
add it dropwise to your samples
positive result = color is 'purple - lilac'
from
SKY - BLUE
to
PURPLE - LILAC
ETHANOL EMULSION
test for
LIPIDS
1) take 2ml of the food sample in your test tube
2) measure 2ml of ethanol and add it to the test tube
3) shake the contents of the test tube and make sure not to spill over
4) add equal volume of water to the test tube
5) shake the contents of the test tube again
positive result =
MILKY WHITE

VITAMIN C
procedure
take 2ml of DCPIP in a test tube
color change = colourless
as you add one drop shake ethe test tube, do this after every drop you add
