DEFINITION
Pregnancy-induced hypertension is a rise in blood pressure without proteinuria during the second half of pregnancy.
CLINICAL MANIFESTATION
Sudden weight gain
Vomiting
Urinating small amount
Right-sided upper abdominal pain
Pain around stomach
Visual changes such as blurred or double vision
Changes in liver or kidney function test
Nausea
DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS
Preeclampsia
Eclampsia
Gestational Hypertension
Chronic Hypertension
HEALTH EDUCATION
Have enough rest
Eat healthy
take medicine according to the doctor's prescription
Drink plenty of water
Come to the nearest health clinic & hospital if you experience worse symptoms
COMPLICATION
Thrombocytopenia
Hepatocellular injury
Central nervous system dysfunction
Acute disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC)
INVESTIGATION
•Pemeriksaan antenatal atau fizikal – Tanda-tanda vital/weight gain/edema
•Fetal monitoring (to check the health of the fetus when the mother has PIH) - Doppler – fetal movement
•Blood taking – FBC/RP/LFT/PTAPTT
•Urine test

PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
Possible mechanism of action
Abnormal cytotrophoblast invasion —> Decreased uterine placental blood flow
—> Placental ischemia —> Placental release of cytokine factors —> Endothelial dysfunction
—> Renal Pressure Natriuresis —> Hypertension
