HISTORY
Initially, broken rice was a popular dish among farmers and workers in the Mekong Delta.
In years when crops are poor, many people often do not have enough good rice to sell, so they use broken rice (broken rice) to cook.
Since Vietnam urbanized in the first half of the 20th century, broken rice has become popular in almost all Southern provinces, including Saigon.
After Saigon became a tourist destination, the seller made some adjustments to the ingredients of Broken Rice to better suit the tastes of foreign diners.
ACHIVEMENT
Nowadays, broken rice is one of the popular dishes and is considered a part of "Saigon culture".
In March 2012, in an article CNN commented that broken rice is an attractive popular street food.
On August 1, 2012, the Asian Records Organization recognized the Asian record for culinary value for Saigon Broken Rice.
