Great Patriotic War
The Great Patriotic War was between Nazi Germany and The Soviet Union. It was from 1941 to 1945. The Soviet Union had approximately 27 million soldiers and civilians killed in this war.
This war led to the West partnering up for the first time since WWI. This was after the invasion by the Nazis even though they had signed a non-aggression pact in 1939. And even though they had been working together from 1941-1945 this ultimately led to the Cold War.

Tehran
The grand aliance first met in tehran to discuss a plan for a winning strategy that would end the war.

Stalin arrived concerned that the USA and Britain were deliberatly delaying the Western front.
However whne the USA and Britain agreed to open the western front this pleased Stalin
This may have also improved relations between Stalin and Roosevelt as Churchill wished for the second front to be from the Balkans
The conference also created some tension between the USA and Britain as the US saw british colonialism more of a threat to world peace then the Soviet Union

Potsdam
The Potsdam Conference was a meeting held between July 17 and August 2, 1945, in Potsdam, Germany.
The people who had attended were Harry Truman, Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin.
It was to decide what should happen with Germany after the war. This included what will happen with Germany's territories and what will happen with the War Criminals.
Also, They needed to settle on a new government. Furthermore, this also made tensions worse between the Soviet Union and the West because the Soviets believed that they were going to have most of Germany because they had occupied Berlin. Although Germany was split into 4 zones but would operate as one nation as a whole
Yalta
The conference was attended by Winston Churchill, Franklin Roosevelt, and Joseph Stalin.

The conferences main objective was to discuss the defeat of Nazi Germany and the establishment of the United Nations which was made to replace the League of Nations.
This gave the Soviet Union more power for they were able to get more countries and ultimately give them an upper hand. Although, it was argued it wasn't that bad for they needed to settle the defeat of Germany.

Communism Vs Capitalism
Communism is the ideology adapted by Soviets allowing everyone to become equal and no one is more important than anyone. Everyone contributes to the community based on their skills and ability.
Russia had adopted this after the Russian revolution and it ultimately led to the first signs of conflict between the West and the Soviets.
Also, the West were able to observe how the Russian revolution led to the Chinese revolution and the Cuban revolution.
Capitalism is the ideology that America believed in and was frightened of the potential spread of communism across the world. Business is controlled by private owners.
Grand alliance
The Grand alliance was between Great Britain, Soviet Union and the United States after the invasion of Germany.
The alliance was officially formed in August 1941, when the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union signed the Anglo-Soviet Alliance.
