- - - - Xylem is located somewhat in the middle of a branch/root, surrounded by phloem.
    - - Transports water and minerals from the roots to the leaves (always flow upwards).
    - - Xylem are made up of long tubular structures. It is mostly made up of dead cells.
  - - - Phloem is located around the xylem (more outside than xylem). Phloem somewhat surrounds xylem.
    - - Transports food from photosynthesis to the whole plant (can either flow downwards or upwards).
    - - Phloem are made up of living cell tissues.
  - - - Sclerenchyma are present inside fruits (e.g. pear) or the hard skin of fruit (e.g. durian), and any hard walls around the plant.
