Because Germans sunk the food boats that were going to Britain

Families were given books of ration stamps

Buy a fixed amount of certain products

They claimed it on The Board of Trade

Extra allowance for luxury items

Tinned fruit

Showed recipes to make healthy meals

1941

Clothes were rationed

The government encouraged

Mending their own clothes

Using cheaper clothes and furniture

Grow their own food

Keep their own animals

It continued a few years even after the end of war in 1945
