Despite the pandemic, the country saw more than a 50% increase in tourist visits in 2021. No wonder why the tourism sector is Guyana's second-largest earner in terms of money coming in from foreign customers at $24 billion in 2021.
Tourism in Guyana supports its national economy: a 2018 report shows that the tourism sector is the 2nd largest export sector for Guyana, injecting roughly $62.6 billion Guyanese dollars into the national economy. That's nearly 8 percent of the country's total GDP.

Guyana is working hard to conserve its vibrant wildlife and cultural eco-system, but this fragile environment can easily deteriorate by unmindful travelling.

The Environmental Protection Act empowers the Agency to oversee the environmental activities of all persons. The Agency is regulatory with the authority to grant or not grant permits for developmental project that will impact on the environment. As a regulator, the Agency is also required to monitor activities of development and to enforce the provisions of the Act. The work of the EPA is organized into technical programme areas, supported by the Operations and Corporate, Human Resources, Finance and Communications Departments.

Guyana's economy registered a real growth of 62% last year and it has been forecasted to expand by another 25% this year. Revenue from oil exports and royalties is expected to climb 31% to $1.63 billion this year, fueled by an average $83 per barrel price for Guyana's export basket.

Ljubljana’s green credentials are widely known, and the city was named Europe’s Green Capital in 2016. Based on a strategy of green development, Ljubljana promotes the regeneration of derelict areas, encourages development along main access routes, and actively protects its natural resources and green space. The city’s website claims “green innovations are part of the city’s DNA.”
Until 2007, Ljubljana’s city centre was plagued by high volumes of vehicular traffic and daily congestion on most streets. The Ljubljana Vision 2025 is aimed at transforming the city by improving its liveability. “The vision intertwined the concepts of sustainable development and urban planning in a close and harmonious way”. … and the transport section of the vision was geared toward “turning the transport modal pyramid on its head—from most trips being undertaken by car to most trips being taken on foot.” The city decided to restrict cars from the inner city and close streets and public squares to motorized vehicles - thereby creating a traffic-calmed public space dedicated to pedestrians and cyclists.

The economy of Slovenia is a developed economy, and the country enjoys a high level of prosperity and stability as well as above-average GDP per capita by purchasing power parity at 83% of the EU28 average in 2015. The nominal GDP in 2022 is 62.191 billion USD, nominal GDP per capita (GDP/pc) in 2022 is USD 29,469.
