Amphetamine (Adderall)
Mechanism of action
Amphetamine exerts it effect by altering the use of monoamines
as neuronal signals in brain; primary in catecholamine
neurons in reward and executive function pathway of the brain
Concentration of man neurotransmitters increase dramatically
in a dose-dependent manner by amphetamine because of its
effect on monomine transporters
Indications
Used to treat deficity hyperactivity disorders
Nurcolepsy
Obesity
Depression and chronic pain
Contraindications
Amphetamine is contraindicated in people with history of drugs abuse
Not recommended for pregnant and child less than 3years
Cardiovascular disease , severe agitation and seizures
Moderate to severe hypertension
Patients with advanced arteriosclerosis and glaucoma
Side effect
Hypertension and Hypotension
Reduced blood flow to hand and feet
Blurred vision
Dry mouth
Prolonged eractions
Storage
Store in room temperature between 20 to 25 degrees Celsius
Don't freeze this medication and away from sunlight
Route of administration
Administered orally tablet is used for short-term and long-term treatment
It can be taken with or without fluid
