Developing as a Middle Leader and Manager - Personal development 2 CORE MISSION
What is the difference between Leadership and Management in my context?
How do I begin to create a functioning and effective 'Team'?
P. Fleming (2019) - My role in motivating and managing people
Building a team from a group of people.
Shared vision and ethos
Shared values
Shared goals - Very important
A clear sense of direction- this can come from the HT - HOWEVER it is up to me as a middle leader to make it meaningful for us. (P. Fleming 2019).
P. Fleming (2019 – Pg. 22) – argues that ‘while team ethos and vision will echo that of the whole school – it is still possible to create a more individual approach’.
Create a Core Mission as a Team - so we can get behind it as a team to drive improvement and rally behind it.
The shared ownership of this vision is essential in constructing a successful and effective team. (P. Fleming 2019)
Our co-created core vision:
"To help close the attainment gap by equipping every student with the lifelong knowledge and skills they need. How? By placing literacy at the heart of their curriculum.”
