What weapon made an impact in WW1?
Rifle and bayonet.
The bayonet is a sharp sword on the end of a rifle and it was made to attach onto the muzzle on the end of a rife. This made it usable if in a close range fight.
The bayonet got its name from the french town bayonne where the bayonet was invented
even though the rifles werent as powerful as the machine guns they were very good for targets that were seperated
The rifles used in WW1 were developed between 1886 and 1903.
they mainly used the rifles for trench raides and defensive operations.
Battleships
The main ship they used was called a dreadnought and it was a huge part of WW1
they used them as aircraft carriers and they were used to protect engineers as they worked on new planes they could use.
The fastest ship was called the HMS duncan and it was the lead ship of the six-ship of the Duncan class of the royal navy before the dreadnoughts were invented.
