Managment, leadership and decision making
Leadership -- this is deciding on the direction of the business or a functional department, setting objectives and motivating employees to achieve these objectives.
Management -- getting things done by planning, organsing and coridnating people and resources.
Leadership styles:

Paternalistic
This is a softer form of leadership then autocratic, but the decision making is still made at the top and there is little delegation.
Democractic
Employees are given more of a say in decision making as managers work with employees to help the business.

This method of management sacrafices some speed in deciosn making to improve motivation and moral within the business.

Laissez faire
This system makes great use of delegation and employees have a great amount of freedom in decision making.

Different leadership styles are needed at different phases of the buisness. For example: if they have just been taken over because they are struggling then an autocratic style of leadership would be best suited.
