News would no longer be relayed by lifeless newspapers or voices over a radio

Radio survived due to cheap and portable radios being widely available and whilst being long life battery and earphones being used.
Newspapers survived especially The Sun with more tabloidy nature
Growth in Leisure Activities
Leisure time expanded as fewer expected to work on Saturdays
Home remained the main place for Leisure and was extended by TV
By 1969 TV was accounted for 23% of leisure time
DIY and gardening became more popular
Live events suffered
Car ownership increased up to 77% of journeys taken being that of in a car
Shopping became a Leisure activity due to both mass production and advertising
Most holidays were still in country especially with caravaning becoming more popular.
Britannia Airways founded in 1964: Spain, Canary Islands, Malta, Bulgaria and North Africa. Mostly middle class.
