evolution: A change in the inherited characteristics of populations from one generation to the next.

law of superposition: A basic law stating that in any undisturbed sequence of rocks deposited in layers, the youngest layer is on top and the oldest on bottom.
Evidence of evolution
A piece of evidence to prove this is that all species were the same in the beginning stages of life which tells us that in order for there to be such a diverse amount of species they had to evolve or everything would be the same
Fossils can also show us that species structure at the time and we can see what its physical features were at the time
