transport
osmosis
osmosis is the movement of water molecules from a solution with a high concentration of water molecules to a solution with a lower concentration of water molecules, through a cell's partially permeable membrane.
-
active transport
he movement of dissolved molecules into or out of a cell through the cell membrane, from a region of lower concentration to a region of higher concentration.
-
cells
cell structure
the cell membrane, the nucleus, and, between the two, the cytoplasm.
cell division
During mitosis, cells divide to produce two new ones which are exact copies of the original cell.

microscopes
useful for showing detail at cellular and sub-cellular level and are used to observe objects that are too small to see with the naked eye.
magnification
how many times bigger an object is in an image, than in real life. Magnification using light microscope – up to x1500. Magnification using an electron microscope – up to x500 000.
eukaryotic
prokaryotic
Bacteria are small, microscopic, unicellular organisms that have a cell wall, cell membrane, cytoplasm and plasmids. They lack a membrane-bound nucleus and instead contain a circular chromosome of DNA known as a nucleoid.9
Cells of animals, plants and fungi are called eukaryotic cells .
