RUNWAY INCURSION - Coggle Diagram
RUNWAY INCURSION
FACTORS CONTRIBUITING TO THE OCCURENCE OF A RUNWAY INCURSION
WEATHER
low visibility. flight crew is disorientated;
controllers are not able to identify and follow aircraft
AIRPORT LAY-OUT OR IRPORT DESIGN
crossing active runways to move between take-off or landing runway and parking position
Simultaneous use of intersecting runways
loss of separation between aircraft near the ground and aircraft on the ground
Late issue of or late changes to departure clearances
failure in flight crew concentration and situational awareness
Phraseology
non-adherence to standard phraseology can lead to clearance confusion between flight crew and controllers
Pilot workload
pilots are very busy at landing and departure
Controller workload
controllers have relatively little time
available for monitoring individual aircraft
Distraction
this is the immediate cause of many incursions.
TYPES OF COLLISION
COLLISION OCCURING OFF THE RUNWAY
AIRCRAFT OR VEHICLE TRAVEL SLOWLY
COLLISION OCCURING ON THE RUNWAY
AT LEAST ONE OF THEM TRAVELS AT CONSIDERABLE SPEED
ANY OCCURENCE AT AN AERODROME INVOLVING THE INCORRECT PRESENCE OF AN AIRCFRAT, VEHICLE OR PERSON ON THE RUNWAY
