Lymphatic systems

Collects and carries away excess tissue fluid from interstitial spaces, eventually returning into the blood.

Lymph nods, which are situated along lymphatic vessels, contain lymphocytes, which help defend body against disease.

the walls are thinner than those of veins, but are constructed with the same 3 layers

It filters the blood and removes damaged cells and bacteria

includes macrophages (phagocyte white blood cells) (non-specific)

Includes B and T cells (lymphocutes - specific type of white blood cells )

Includes skin and mucous membranes(non-specific)
