CHEN KIEU PAGODA
HOW TO GET THERE
You go straight on Tran Hung Dao street to the roundabout intersecting with National Highway 1A, then follow Highway 1A for about 3km to arrive.
Dai Tam commune, My Xuyen district, on National Highway 1A, 12km from Soc Trang city, from Soc Trang city to Bac Lieu.
ARCHITECT
Main power
The top of the column is decorated with a winged goddess Kno in a raised position supporting the roof frill, creating a transition between the vertical of many columns and the horizontal of the roof.
The main hall of the pagoda is spacious and airy with 16 large columns, all of which are carved and embossed with images depicting traditional cultural legends of the Khmer people.
On both sides of the wall hang many pictures about Buddha Shakyamuni from his birth to enlightenment.

The altar is a collection of 20 large and small statues in many different standing, lying and sitting positions, all of which are reasonably arranged, artistically, aesthetically and beautifully.
Temple courtyard
In the middle of the yard is a flagpole with a vivid symbol of Nagar's snake spreading its first five years, referring to the legend of the snake spreading its head to cover the rain for the Buddha when he meditated.

Temple roof
The roof of the pagoda has three staggered roofs, the top roof is smaller than most.
Each roof layer is decorated with patterns, motifs, and statues worshiping Khmer culture with wishes of peace and liberation.
The triangular roof is beautifully decorated, like a colorful carpet exposed in the sky.
The two blades on both sides are curved as if there is a spiritual communion with the Savior for human souls, protecting and protecting sentient beings peace and happiness.
Behind the temple

It is an architectural complex consisting of many large and small Buddha statues, quite vividly simulating the process of entering the world, seeking truth and enlightenment until Buddha Shakyamuni entered Nirvana.
Around the temple

There are two stone lion statues on either side of the entrance gate, facing the street as if to guard the temple.
On the wall of the gate, there are Khmer words and the national language: "Sa Lon Pagoda".
Along the entrance to the temple are two rows of Kayno statues, which are Buddhas with the face of the goddess Apsara and the body of the bird Garuda.
TIPS FOR VISITING
The most beautiful time on October 14 or 15 of the lunar calendar, you will have the opportunity to participate in Ooc-Om-Bok ceremony and boat racing.
When you come here, you should not dress too colorful or offensive.
Do not arbitrarily touch, touch or take any objects in the temple without the permission of the temple.
Do not step on trees, flowers, tables and chairs in the temple. Dispose of garbage in the right place to avoid polluting the environment.
HISTORY
In 1969, mobilized Buddhists to contribute to rebuilding the temple.
During the construction of the pagoda, due to a lack of materials, the monks used their relatives' dishes to cover the wall. Since then, the pagoda has also been called by the locals as "Chen Kieu Pagoda".
Initially, the pagoda used the main materials as leaves, wood, earth and stone.
