Lasik and Glasses
Lasik
What are the advantages of Lasik?
Improved vision - The most obvious benefit of opting for laser vision correction surgeries such as LASIK is improved vision. While there is no guarantee that you will have perfect eyesight after the procedure, around 96% of patients who choose LASIK achieve 20/20 vision. Those who don’t still find that their vision is dramatically improved, and their reliance on eyeglasses or contact lenses is significantly reduced.
Fast healing - The healing time from a LASIK procedure is typically around 24-36 hours, unless there are any complications arising from the placement of the flap. There is also no need to wear uncomfortable bandages. This means that you can get back to your job and driving with minimal downtime.
What are the disadvantages of Lasik
Flap complications - there is a risk of complications that include. 1. The flap wrinkling up, causing distorted vision. 2. The flap becoming displaced. 3. The flap breaking or being incomplete is some way. 4. Debris becoming trapped under the flap. The damage to the area where the flap has been created also causes the corneal tissue as a whole to be weaker and more susceptible to problems.
What are the risk factors of Lasik surgery
Dry eyes. LASIK surgery causes a temporary decrease in tear production.
Glare, halos and double vision. You may have difficulty seeing at night after surgery, which usually lasts a few days to a few weeks.
Undercorrections. If the laser removes too little tissue from your eye, you won't get the clearer vision results you were hoping for.

What are the advantages of Glasses
Glasses are easy to take off and put on at night, and a good quality pair can last for years, only needing a lens replacement when your prescription changes.
They can distort vision, especially at the edge of the lens if you have a strong prescription or astigmatism.
What are the disadvantages of glasses
Scratches It’s easy to scratch up your glasses when cleaning them. It happens to the best of us, especially when we use materials that are abrasive to clean our anti-reflective lense
Many eye conditions get worse over time whether you are wearing glasses or not. Your glasses will help you to see more clearly, but over time, you may need a stronger prescription to account for a worsening eye condition
