Types of conditionings
Operant conditioning
It is also known as instrumental conditional
This method uses some punishment and then a reward so they could modify the behavior
With this conditioning we find an association with the behavior and a consequence
If the behavior is repeated the punishes will rare occur.
People use this type of conditioning in very common in our community, as example...
when lab rats press a lever when a green light is on, they receive a food pellet as a reward.
Parents can use operant conditioning with their children by: offering praise when they do something positive.
Classical Conditioning
We can associate this conditioning with a involuntary behavior with stimulus
the environmental stimulus will eventually elicit a similar response to the natural stimulus.
the behavior that we learn by connecting a neutral stimulus with a positive one
For example
Example: dogs hearing a bell (neutral) and expecting food (positive).
As an example of classical conditioning we can use the Pavlov’s experiment
Creating a scenario
Teaching your dog how to high five.
To teach your dog to give a high five the first step is to
is to grab the dogs paw and then give him a treat so he start to understand
at the same time you need to say "give me the paw"
Then you need to repeat the process
this is a operant condition
It is operant conditioning since every time he did the wished command he will receive a treat
So this will stimulate the dog so every time he hear "paw" he will give his paws
