Useability Principles
Effectiveness
Effectiveness is basically a measure of how well a website does what its designed to do. In this instance, this refers to how well the UI of 'Protect The Koalas' works and how it helps the users
Safety
The safety usability principle refers to the stability of the interface by avoiding abrupt and obvious changed to the view of the website when they are not necessary.
Accessability
Accessibility focuses on the usability components that need to be implemented to ensure the digital solution is accessible to all people.
Utility
The utility usability principle refers to providing functions that users need in the first place, such as determining what features and tools users need right away and giving them to the users.
Learnability
Learnability focuses on the usability aspects that need to be implemented into the solution to make it easier for users to learn how to use the digital solution.
Self-Determined Criteria
User-Friendly interface
A user friendly interface is essential to allow users to easily search for road closures based on suburb. The interface should also provide users with alternative routes to travel if their usual routes are closed due to weather events.
Privacy and Security
The website should prioritize the privacy and security of user data, ensuring that personal information is protected and that the website itself is secure from cyber threats.
Scalability
The web application should be scalable to accommodate an increase in the number of users during a weather event. The application should be able to handle a large amount of traffic without slowing down or crashing.
Data Accuracy
It is important that the data provided by Moreton Bay Council is accurate and up-to-date. Inaccurate information could lead to incorrect decision-making by users, potentially leading to safety hazards or increased travel times.
Website Pages
Home

Register
The register page of the website allows users to register for an account if they don't already have one. they are required to provide a few basic pieces of information before they are given an account.
Stories
The stories page of the website is where logged in users can add stories to the website for other users to see. They have to provide some details about the story, such as the suburb it occurred in, who the author is (typically their own name), and a brief description of what happened.
