What is AR? What is VR?
VR "Completely immerses people in a digital setting. These settings can be created as fully synthetic computer-generated content, they can be made of real-world content (set in actual 360-degree video), or they can be a hybrid of both. Roblox is one of many popular metaverse VR platforms in 2022. Today’s fullest home or work VR experiences require individuals to use a head-mounted device and haptic controllers" Pew Research Center, June 30, 2022. “The Metaverse in 2040”

The Metaverse has been abbreviated XR: The meta verse is considered - immersive XR spaces in which interactions take place among humans and

Examples of AI in China:
This AI approach was recently banned. https://www.eetimes.com/china-a-headband-for-your-thoughts/
Were there any benefits? What were possible consequences or negative impacts?
Benefits: Gives the teacher/parents a better understanding of how students learn, promotes competition ( can also be a negative), motivtes students (possibly in an unhealthy way), can show areas of weakness in content
Neghatives: Where is that data going? Is the data being used in a healthy manner by parents? By teachers? Does the AI naturally and positively stimulate student curiosity in the learning environment?
"All we are doing is providing some assistance for the students to see how much they are paying attention,” Zhang said. “Because the data is transferred to the teacher, the students will concentrate more than usual, and we’ve indeed seen some improvements.” - Guardian
"With many children across China using smartwatches, mobile phones and other devices that track location and personal information, parents are becoming increasingly concerned about how that data is used, and who can access it." Gaurdian
With that said, how much more different Is the device from a tablet, smart phone or smartwatch. All of these devices are tracking and monitoring students and it is unclear where that data is going, why not use it to promote student learning?
Could there be necessary policies surrounding HOW the data must be used? Will there be a new expanded field in data analytic ethics? AI ethics?
