cyber attack and how do they happen
weak/default passwords
some passwords are surprising simple this means people can easily access you data.
examples include 12345 or qwerty
these are also known as default passwords
better passwords include lots of characters (8 or more) symbols and numbers
misconfigured access rights
if these aren't set up correctly anyone can see everything. for example an email server
therefore setup them safely so your data is safe
access rights are setting which allow what can and cannot be seen when someone access you computer
removeable media
removable media is something like a usb stick or removable drive
if these storage devices contain malicious software you could be at great risk
if this device is now used on another device the data on that device could also be at risk of a cyber attack
Unpatched/outdated software
most devices have automatic software updates
these updates include new antivirus software so your device is less at risk
if these updates aren't installed it will be easier for criminal or you to download malicious software onto your device
