victorian society for poorer people was extremely difficult- cold hungry and most of the time very ill
illness was very easily spread and not easily cures, with not much medicines available
stealing was at its peak, people stealing to eat and survive
british winters are commonly cold and rainy, with no heating or money for a fire, people were often cold or living on the side of the streets, where they were at risk of illness
however, the poor laws were passed that said that poorer people must be housed in workhouses, fed and clothed to have a better way of life
for rich people, victorian times were classy and full of dances, balls and dinner parties
maids, cooks, servants and other workers were common in richer peoples houses, people to wait on their every need
women would stay indoors and the men would all be employed, out working
fancy clothing was worn, made of materials like silk and cotton that was imported, but poorer class was usually in tweed or wool- easy and cheap materials
its set in christmas time which is a time for family and charitable behaviour, both of which scrooge denies and prevents

scrooge lost his fiance around christmas time when he chose money over family and love- leaving him with a bad experience of christmas

GCP takes Scrooge back to his childhood school and all the little kids running around and having a good time. It also shows when his dad comes to the school and Scrooge refuses to go home with his dad and sister.

Family life We are taken to see the Cratchit household with Scrooge. To see that if Scrooge does not change his ways then the Cratchit household will not have a lot of time left with Tiny Tim.

christmas is a time for charity and to be charitable. in one night scrooge went from not wanting to give money, to being very charitable on christmas day
Fred is the complete opposite to Scrooge, Fred is a jolly happy full of life person who loves Christmas and is Scrooges cousin
