the ghost of christmas pasta is important because the starch contained in pasta is a string or chain molecule, this could be making reference to the chains marley wears during his first appearance in the novella. also the ghost of ravioli represents the food and wealth scrooge refuses to give to those below him in the societal hierarchy of victorian britain.

Bells tolling and chiming fit into the story's song-like structure and also recur at key moments, reminding Scrooge of the time and of time passing.

Scrooge starts off at a low-class when he was younge, to becoming a high-class person.

Scrooge is also shown the time with his partner / wife where he breaks up with her over greed and money, which makes Scrooge regret his past life decisions as he is now lonely without anyone.
In the end Scrooge decides to change his ways, making him live longer as the ghosts are deciding his bad fate.
Marley's time was up, and he came back to tell Scrooge that he was a miser too, and it didn't end well for him in the end.
Scrooge is taken back to his past to show him that once he was in a bad position too with little to no money
Scrooge first sees his old dead work partner Marley in ghost-form, who tells him that if he doesn't change his ways quickly / soon enough, he will also end up as a ghost in chains / shackles and weights.

Time in A Christmas Carol is important for Scrooge as it's the main factor that helps the ghosts to make Scrooge see what's wrong about his personality and behaviour.
The time in A Christmas Carol shows the contrast in Scrooge's life and shows him that he should be more generous and nice to people as he was once in their position when he was younger and didn't own a business.
Scrooge is joyful that he is still alive and hasn't missed Christmas after all the ghosts talking to him for ages, and him changing his mind at the end.

Scrooge is shown in the present where tiny Tim and his family are struggling to survive and live properly because they don't get paid much.
Scrooge is taken into the future and sees that he's died and that nobody cares about him, as well as the poor stealing everything from his house.
Time is confusing as he wakes up after all the ghosts have seen him, and it's still only Christmas morning, whereas it seems like he's been with the ghosts for ages.
