Structures
- MASSIVE STRUCTURES: They are structures characterised by th use of a large amount of building material. They are very robust. The matirials most commoly used are: blocks of stone or clry and compacted soil. They are the simplest structures, characteritic of the early civilitations

-
FRAME STRUCTURS: These types of stucture are composed of vertical (pillars) and horizontals (beams) elements.
-
VAULTED: The early engineers were good observers of nature, they knew natural arches. The arches have the capacity to resist an enormus force, dividing it in two parts. This engineers appiled this knowledge and build arches with small blocks. They didn't use lintels. They improve the techniques and the large arches enabled the construction of large interior spaces without intermediante columns.
TRIANGULED STRUCTURES: These are structures of bars, made of metal or wood, joined together to form triangles.
The triangle is the only geometric figure that does not deform.
SUSPENDED STRUCTURES: In these structures the force is supported by cables, they are in tension
INFLATABLE STRUCTURE: These structures are produced by joining flexible tubes or plastic bags and inflating them with compressed air.
