Local businesses can sustain themselves as there is sufficient demand for goods and services :
Residents can take up employment : at these shops to earn income and improve their standard of living
Transport and infrastructure costs can be kept low within the community
Buildings & objects usually located close to one another, which keeps transportation costs low & residents don't have to travel far
E.g: Schools located near transport hubs
Transport infrastructure can be located closer to one another to keep the cost of developing transport infrastructure low.
E.g: Bus interchange located next to train station
Social Sustainability
Small population size in urban neighbourhoods can facilitate regular interactions amongst residents
Helps build resilience and positive relationships with residents. It also reduces conflicts and misunderstandings.
Majority of problems faced are mundane, day-to-day issues which can be mostly solved locally with adequate neighbourhood structure
Residents feel included and have a sense of shared identity
Shared community spaces can help promote regular social interactions

What does the government or community do to encourage recycling?
Recycling: To be placed near neighbourhoods for convenience. To have banners around the neighbourhood to educate and raise awareness. High pop density so can recycle in economical viable manner. Neighbourhood recycling activities such as door to door collection of old items.
Energy efficiency: Greeneries and solar panels
