Review safety and first aid protocols
Collect materials
Set up ring stand and add on burette clamp
Mount the burette in the clamp on the ring stand so that there is enough room underneath for the erlenmeyer flask
Dedicate one beaker as a waste beaker, and place it under burette
Rinse the burette using deionized water and washbottle
Close the stopcock
Place funnel in the top of burette and add approximately 10 ml of NaOH
Open stopcock, then examine the burette for any substances sticking to the sides
