Settlor cannot revoke or amend trust or terms, must be stated expressly

Beneficiaries
If dies before testator, bequeath lapses or fails, falls into residue, doesn't automatically pass to that person's heirs
Most states have anti-lapse statute (saves the gift when predeceased beneficiary was in a specified degree relationship to testator and left decedents)
