- - - - Everyone relected every 2 years (mid terms).
    - - Impeachment (bringing formal charges against someone for the Senate to vote on).
      - Elect the president if no candidate has over 50% of the ECVs (Electoral College Votes)
      - Begin consideration of all money bills (the Senate still votes on them, but they must start in the House).
  - - - 1/3 of the Senate is elected every 2 years.
    - - Try an impeachment case.
        
        If the House votes to impeach somone then the Senate holds the trail and if 2/3rds of the Senate vote in favour then the person will be removed from office.
      - Elect the VP when no candidate has over 50% of ECVs (Electoral College Votes).
      - Ratify treaties (this requires a 2/3 vote in the Senate).
      - Confirm executive appointments.
