Ethical Issues

Social Inequality: Discrimination - This article touches the subject of discrimination on people with blond hair. This article talks about the rarity of blond hair as an endangered species. It also states that dyed blonds are more attractive than natural blonds. The rarity of blond hair comes with the stereotypes and the manners in which people also mock and tease blond hair people in our society. The discrimination of an article like this would also affect those with confidence issues. The effect of being associated with the color hair that is mocked can cause them to dye their hair to another color. This can lead to the damaging process and cause other appearance issues since blond hair is easily damaged. These stereotypes can also grow into depression and lack of self-confidence.

Genetics: Hair color is determined by the amount of melanin in your hair. A lack of one type of melanin, called eumelanin, gives people light color or blond hair. This can come in many different types of ethnicities. The study did not account for the randomizing of mating by our society. With random mating and the absence of standard mix of genes for a particular hair color and in a large population the frequency of blond hair will remain the same over time.
Popularity of Blond Hair: The popularity of blond hair has not changed over time. The blond hair has always been associated with beauty and grace. Many of the women dye their hair this color to try an emulate the style that has always been timeless since the Greek goddess Aphrodite. Many American picture of blond hair blue eyes as the ideal combination for beauty.
Culture Effect: Blond hair has been a part of our culture for many years from the iconic image of Marylin Monroe to the modern-day pictures of Jennifer Lawrence. Blond hair is one of the most popular hair colors and the blond look symbolizes beauty. Also, there are many negative stereotypes about the blond hair that contributes to the discrimination and the of blond-haired people.
Opinion About Issue
My Opinion on the issue is that this article displays a narrative that is not true. The fact that genetics and the wide spread of population mixture play a large role in the existence of blond hair. The study that was published was not well thought of and the research group was not large enough to produce the proper data.
Social Impact: Popularity of Blond Hair-* This article gives a false narrative on the popularity of blond hair. This piece of lecture blames "Bottle Blonds" for the decline as in our society the natural blond hair is not as common as you think. 1 out of 20 people in the us has a natural tint of blonde hair but in our social society blonde hair is loved by many. Even though there are not many natural blonds the hair color is one of the most popular colors to dye and wear in the states. 1 and 3 American women dye their hair blond. In Europe the blond hair is even more of a rarity. Even with those facts the social impact of blond hair is something in which many people pride themselves on. This article attacks this group of natural blond people by making them seem like a minority.

Social Development: Blond Hair Ethnicity - This article challenges the ethnicity of blond hair. By stating extinction will happen in the Finland areas are not accounting for the strong genes of the carriers of the blond hair trait. Blond hair is originated in Scandinavia and around the Baltic Sea. Blond hair in U.S. only makes up 2% of the population. Ten percent of the Melanesian population is born with naturally blond hair. Aboriginal Australians also have often had natural blond-to-brown hair, with as many as 90% of children born blond in some areas. These facts from the text show that the article is taking a blind eye to the different ways genes can be made. To make a determination as such you must make a larger study.
Balance in Language: By using a balance in language you avoid words and phrases that take focus away from facts and findings in research. "Sensational Phrases" like "Bottle Blonds" are described as words to replace in the text. Tactic: Keep language to a research-based tone to validate your article.
