A lava plateaux is an extrusive, volcanic land-formation
A lava plateaux is a steep-sided, flat topped upland area, made up of basalt.
It is formed out of basic lava (below 55% silica), that has forced its was out of the fissures in earths surface.
The plateaux increases in size after each eruption, due to layers of strata building up.
