Changes for Physicians, Surgeons & Hospitals
Hospitals - They were founded by the rich or private subscriptions from the local community. Specialist wards/hospitals were made to treat certain diseases.
Workhouses - Poor people often lived there as they could not afford their own house. The conditions were very bad and dangerous.
Attitudes and beliefs - treatment was free, but it was based on the four humours. The idea that disease was a punishment was very popular.
College of Physicians - Was set up in 1518. Doctors still believed in the 4 humours as well as miasma. Doctors got licences.

Dissection and Vesalius
Dissections - Vesalius thought that surgery would only get better if surgeons understood the body more. He faced opposition for not supported Galen's ideas and had to leave his job.
