Development of my Ideas
Early thinking
After learning about different theatre styles in class, I knew I didn’t want to tell a realistic or fully explained story.
I was more drawn to plays that made the audience feel confused or reflective: especially absurdist ones.
I also wanted to work solo, so I needed a form where silence, gestures, and repetition could tell a story without needing many characters.
Big ideas and themes
I started with the feeling of being trapped or controlled: like a person stuck in a loop, unable to escape.
I thought about how people follow routines every day, especially because of technology (like alarms, messages, apps).

Creating "The Circuit"
I decided to use a pencil pouch as the object representing the “Circuit” to show how even normal items can become symbols of control.
I used my phone to play robotic voice commands, which gave the Circuit a presence without needing another actor.
The voice commands were strange but specific, showing how meaningless routines can feel important when they're being told by a “system.”
Trial and Exploration
I experimented with different camera angles (front, side, high) to make the space feel like a system or maze.
I tested different lighting: like flickering lights during the glitch scene and it helped create tension.
I tried different movements: walking slowly, hesitating before actions, and repeating gestures to reflect robotic or fearful behavior.
