SCIENTIFIC THEORIES
BIG BANG THEORY
the world + universe came from an explosion, scientists tracing it back to a single point 13,800,000,000yrs ago
a hot, dense mass exploded + scattered the universe, and the heat cooled and created particles which became atoms, clouds, stars etc.
suggests cosmic background radiation could be present in the universe from the big bang (evidence found in 20th century
MUSLIM CONTRIBUTION
muslims believe Allah (SWT) was the first cause for the singular point, and once the universe was created, Allah (SWT) might've worked through natural forces to form the rest of the universe
STEADY STATE THEORY
the universe was always there, with new particles/ matter being made always somewhere, not just at one point, and so the universe will always go on forever
einstein didn't believe the universe to be in steady state, but did suggest as the universe changed, time + space changed, so we wouldn't have to look at when the universe started
MUSLIM CONTRIBUTION
muslims believe in a first cacuse (Allah (SWT)), so to say the universe always existed would equal it to God, which wouldn't make sense islamically, as the Creator came first
AL-BIRUNI: concluded time was relative, had different qualities + cycles - time doesn't have a linear pattern
AL-BIRUNI discovered planets moved in a sphere-like pattern, + concluded the earth was round, working out its radius to 99.7% accuracy
