A Tale of One City
This article talks about how Detroit is being fixed up and says it's not really fair to the people who live there. The author says that big companies and rich people are getting all the help, while regular working people are being left out. It basically says that the city acts like this rebuilding is a good thing but it’s really just a way to make money by paying workers very little and using help from the government.
A quote from the article: "Employees inside these behemoths have become increasingly vocal in denouncing their work conditions. Mohamed Hassan, one of the workers who took part in a recent strike in an Amazon warehouse in Minnesota, said, “The pace of work is inhumane. Everyone feels continuously threatened by the system.”
I grouped these two together because both of the quote have to do with the working conditions being too fast for the workers.
Blue Collar
This movie talks about how hard life can be for working people. The movie shows that sometimes even the union can be unfair or do bad things. This movie is important because it shows real problems that workers face in real life. It helps people understand why workers need unions.

I grouped Blue Collar and How A Revolutionary Countermood is made into the same thing because they both go more in depth on labor unions. One talks about the formation of one and the other talks about how the union is not trying to do what it is supposed to do and help the workers.
Finally Got the News
Finally Got the News is about Black auto workers in Detroit who were treated unfairly in their jobs. They formed a group called the League of Revolutionary Black Workers to fight for better working conditions and more respect. This documentary shows how they organized, spoke out, and tried to change the system. It highlights the power of working together to make things more fair.

Martin
In this episode Martin is annoyed when his landlord raised the rent. The landlord never fixed anything around the apartment so Martin didn’t think it was fair to raise the price because the apartment isn’t getting any better. Because of this, Martin refusesdto pay. This made the landlord turn off the heat during a blizzard and him and his friends were freezing in the room. When Martin sees Mr. Lopez with another tenant's wife blackmails him to lower the rent and turn on the heat.
A Tale of One City
A quote from the article: Many of the most prolific auction bidders are not homeowners looking to plant roots but A Tale of One City 35 speculators who ‘rent’ houses back to owners who lost them, using predatory schemes that often lead to new evictions and cycles of instability.
This quote of the article reminds me of the Martin episode when it talks aobut evicting people. This article talks about how people buy homes scheme people into getting evicted. Martin was kind of going through the same thing when he got the eviction notice for his protest,

This episode shows how Martin’s resistance to unfair conditions is kind of like a union within himself. Him protesting because of the rent increase is almost the same as how workers use unions to protest unfair actions by employers.
