Down Syndrome
What is Down Syndrome?
Down syndrome is a genetic condition caused by an extra copy of chromosome 21, which is why it is also known as Trisomy 21.
Typically, humans have 46 chromosomes, but individuals with Down syndrome have 47, due to this additional chromosome.
