History of the food pattern?
It started in 1986 in Rome Italy when they opened fast food. They promote “slow food” as the opposite of fast food, protesting the
1989, the movement became a worldwide movement and aimed to promote protecting local foods worldwide
2004 was the first World Meeting of Food Communities, bringing 5000 delegates from 130 countries.
2006, added an aspect of social justice of food and protection of the environment
In 2009, the Cooks Alliance was launched, a thousand members globally, who are restaurateurs who uphold the slow food philosophy in their kitchens.
2015, host an expo in Italy, as part of the expo from Oct 3-6 the “we feed the planet” event was organized, bringing slow food to 2500 young farmers
2020, a call to action was published, to educate, promote cultural diversity and influence policies in the private sector.
