Montesquieu
Montesquieu who wrote "The Spirit of the Laws" which was about the separation of powers in the government. He wanted the government to be split up into three branches (judicial, legislative, and executive).

Jean-Jacques Rousseau wrote in “The Social Contract” that he believes that when the government takes away the power of the people the social contract is broken.

The Spanish Crown had the most economical power, and it went downt the line of the social hierarchy

This was an inherently unjust and unequal social system as it was based entirely on predetermined assets of a person, such as race and wealth.
This was the general Social Hierarchy in Gran Columbian Venezuela, however people could be considered slightly higher or lower in the hierarchy based on wealth and education.
Languages
The main language was spanish but in some immigrant communities they spoke; German, Italian, and Portuguese
Military Strategies
Guerrilla warfare is where smaller forces use tactics like: hit and run, sabotage, and other things that weaken the bigger opposing forces.
The cavalry units like the llaneros had the upper hand because they could fight using mounted combat strategies. They were very fast, and since they were familiar with the land had an advantage when it came to navigation.
Enslaved people were recruited by revolutionaries like Bolivar into their armies and were promised freedom.
Local Militias
Local militias were a bunch of ordinary locals who wanted to fight for independence. They helped defend and fight which was very helpful to the revolution.
Indigenous people helped fight in the war because they wanted to end the oppression. They had the upper hand because they knew the land and were good at navigating.
