central to Jesus' teachings is the idea of relationships between people
the only way to maintain relationships is to restore broken ones and move on the past.
Jesus sees this at both local and national level
not only concerned with peoples relationships with their neighbours but also societies relationship with those on the edges
Jesus taught reconciliation must come before worship
outcasts must be drawn back to society
we must not judge others
forgiveness must be excessive
we must pray daily for forgiveness
humans must forgive each other in the same way god forgives
Inner purity and moral motivation
Jesus criticised the authorities of his day for being more concerned with the outward appearances of their religion
than with what is going on in their heart
Jesus said that thinking about adultery was as bad as committing it
he reminded
God will judge us on our attitudes towards others
Jesus was more interested in what was going on inside a person and so interacted with all sorts of people that religious leaders would have ignored
he touched the sick and interacted with women on a level that was frowned upon
